At Cruise Saudi, it is our responsibility to set the standards to preserve, protect, and restore the environment we operate in. In line with our principles and Saudi's Vision 2030, our goal is to preserve marine ecosystems; champion sustainable cruising through the exploration of sustainable marine fuels transport and circular technologies; and ensure responsible port development and operations. Our key objective is to strike the harmony between minimizing our environmental impact and providing an unforgettable experience for our Guests.
Our sustainability framework is built on three fundamental economies that shape our approach to environmental stewardship.
Cruise Saudi enhances local expertise and contributes to the growth of a knowledge-based economy, by nurturing a skilled workforce in sustainable tourism practices, marine conservation, and environmental stewardship. We invest in local talent through training programs, scholarships, and partnerships with educational institutions.
Cruise Saudi reduces its carbon footprint and contributes to a circular carbon economy, by optimizing vessel routes; adopting energy-efficient technologies; investing in renewable energy sources; and implementing measures to minimize carbon emissions throughout our operations.
Cruise Saudi reduces emissions, enhances operational efficiency, and pioneers sustainable practices in the cruise industry, by researching and adopting the integration of hydrogen as a clean energy solution for maritime transport.
Cruise Saudi works towards the implementation of an initiative in the cruise facilities in King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam to reduce electricity consumption and provide sustainable power solutions inside this strategic location in the cruise ecosystem. This initiative comprises of Data Collection and Analysis (POC); Solution Implementation and Evaluation (POC); Evaluation; and Reporting.
On the Arabian Environment Day, Cruise Saudi joined forces with the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA) and over 200 volunteers, in an environmental initiative to clean Shabbab Island and plant mangroves on its shores, contributing to achieving the Vision's environmental goals of protecting and preserving Saudi's natural ecosystems.
Sustainability and innovation is core focus in Cruise Saudi’s development of the cruise ecosystem in Saudi. We aim at implementing a set of long-term initiatives and promoting eco-friendly tourism, in collaboration with local and international stakeholders, including but not limited to the following: Mangrove restoration programs in Rabigh Island.
